Governor Inslee’s announcement of the “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” order has been extended here in Washington state for through May 31, 2020. On May 1, in Governor Inslee’s Four Phase approach in reopening, the soonest non-essential travel could begin is June 15. We look forward to welcoming guests back as soon as we can but it looks like the earliest would be June 15th. The San Juan County Council is adhering to these guidelines for the San Juan Islands. Please visit the San Juan County website for more details.
What happens if your reservation is canceled due to this order? We will contact you via email with the following choices:
We are happy to move your deposit to your reservation slot for next year or a gift certificate toward any future reservation. The majority of our guests are regulars who we enjoy seeing year after year. If you would like a full refund, instead of moving your deposit as a credit, we cannot rebook your reservation for next year. You will be refunded excluding the $25 processing fee.
Many guests from the March and April cancellations offered to move half of their deposit to next year and donate the other half to help cover our 2020 expenses as we have had total revenue loss since late March. Other loyal guests have contacted us about making a donation to help cover our losses. If you would like to make a contribution of any kind we are happy to arrange it. We understand this might not be realistic for some as many are suffering similar financial hardship. We are grateful for any support and are feeling the love. Thank you and we hope to see you all as soon as it is deemed safe.
Rest assured that as we are able to reopen the resort we will be cleaning and disinfecting the cabins and common areas as guided by the CDC. We’ve always been fanatical about the cleanliness of our rooms and this hasn’t changed. From door knobs to counter tops, floors and doors and cups and plates, we’re cleaning and disinfecting as always with extra details and products required by the CDC. Our staff will wear protective masks and gloves at all times and we will have signage posted for guests to maintain social distancing when outside of their cabins. We will have an envelope posted on the office door with your cabin key and info and can accept payment over the phone or use your card on file for no contact payments. Please let us know if you have any questions regarding our protocol. We look forward to providing you the peaceful and relaxing escape that you are used to.
Take care. Shayne, Justin, Laura, Adam and the Beach Haven Team
Come stay with us at Beach Haven Resort on Orcas Island!!
Since 1939, Beach Haven Resort has welcomed guests seeking the rustic beauty and tranquility of Orcas Island. Our waterfront resort is bordered by one of the only remaining stands of old-growth forest on Orcas. It is home to many species of wildlife, including: bald eagles, deer, otters, various birds and seals. Our lack of televisions, telephones and internet access in the cabins ensure a distraction-free escape.
Beach Haven is here to welcome you whether you are planning a romantic getaway for two, family holiday, corporate retreat or solo adventure. Just steps from your waterfront deck you can enjoy numerous activities. You can walk our private beach, row a boat out and drop a crab pot, paddle a kayak (or canoe or SUP), play horseshoes, sit around one of our two fire pits, play a game of outdoor ping-pong, bird watch, frolic in our playground or just sit on the beach and relax. Wood-burning stoves in the cabins provide a cozy spot inside to unwind with a book or relax with friends or loved one. At Beach Haven, you’ll feel like you’ve left the world behind, yet you are minutes from Eastsound where shopping, dining and recreation options abound.
Please note: we are full in all cabins from mid-June thru mid-Sept as we are completely booked with returning summer guests. We are open year-round so we hope that you’ll be able to visit us another time.
