3 THINGS TO DO

Registered guests of Beach Haven Resort can rent our boats (kayaks, canoes, row boats & stand up paddle boards) while you’re staying here or bring your own to explore the islands, fish or crab. We also have complimentary moorings available if you decide to bring your boat. While we do not have a boat launch on the property, there are options nearby for launching and trailer parking.

Boats are available to rent during office hours and not all items are available for weekly rentals. Life vests are provided with rental (infant to large adult sizes). Liability waiver must be signed by guest 18 years of age or older. Rentals are daily ($29 & $35) or weekly ($98 & $109) based on size of boat rented.

Moran State Park is one of the jewels of the island. It is the 4th largest state park in the Washington and boasts more than 38 miles of trails spread over 5,200 acres spanning dense forests and hugging the coastline of several lakes and creeks. Enjoy year-round hiking, trail running, canoeing, kayaking and mountain biking.

The Orcas Island Farmer’s Market is open from 10am to 3pm every Saturday from the first weekend in May to the last weekend of September on the Village Green in heart of Eastsound. During October and through most of November, the Market meets from 11am to 2pm at Oddfellows Hall.

There are public restrooms are available on the park grounds. Leashed dogs are permitted.

Explore the waters around Orcas with a guided kayak tour.

Body Boat Blade offers offer classes dealing with fundamental boat handling skills, ocean currents, surf, coastal expeditions, white-water, guide training and coach education. These are fun programs held in some of the best learning environments in the Pacific Northwest!

Go for a bike ride. Didn’t bring your bike? You can rent one from Wildlife Cycles in Eastsound.

From there you can ride to our local brewery, Island Hoppin’ Brewery or enjoy some of the singletrack available at Moran State Park.

Take a water taxi to Sucia or Patos Island and spend the day hiking or just relaxing. Summer only.

The smallest of the ferry-served islands, its only commercial facilities are the General Store and Shaw Island County Park. There are no overnight lodging accommodations on the island.

The ferry terminal is in the heart of downtown Friday Harbor. Just steps from the ferry landing are shops and dining options and a beautiful marina. Walk on passengers are free on interisland ferries, so leave your car on Orcas and walk onto the ferry to Friday Harbor for a day-trip. Friday Harbor is the largest town in the San Juan Islands and has a movie theater and bowling alley.
